On 8 September 2017, we took part in the 2017 World Canal Cities Forum, held in Yangzhou, China. The topic for this year, titled “New Opportunities for Canal Cities Under the Belt and Road Initiative”, attracted 300 government officials, international organization representatives, scholars, experts and entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries, such as China, the UK, Ireland, France and Netherlands.

86Links is honored to be invited to this forum. Our CEO, Mdm. Xinping Wang, introduced 4 aspects of 86Links’s work that are closely-knitted to the topic: Belt and Road Initiative, Online Industrial Park Investment Promotion, Metro and Railway Transport, and Canal Cities.

Mdm. Wang started off by providing a brief introduction of 86Links. 86Links is an one-stop online platform that enables global partnership; whether a business faces challenges in production, sales, M&A, legal or tax advisory, 86Links can provide a comprehensive set of solutions.

To ensure the platform is truly an “one-stop shop” for businesses, Mdm. Wang said that 86Links utilizes existing resources in these 4 aspects to build the foundations of this platform. For example, under the “Belt and Road” sub-portal, 86Links has formed strategic partnership with more than 50 domestic and international business associations and non-profit organizations.

These partnerships will enable 86Links to consolidate a huge online database of all the projects spanning across the 65 “Belt and Road” countries, including more than 4000 projects from the World Bank. In addition, 86Links will organize offline introductory sessions to highlight some of these projects. Businesses can also tap on the “Belt and Road” International Media Alliance, which provides access to some 4000 print and social media channels, to enhance their own marketing efforts in any of the “Belt and Road” countries.

Mdm. Wang also shared her thoughts in fostering more collaboration among canal cities. Together with the World Historic and Cultural Canal Cities Cooperation Organization (WCCO) and China Web, 86Links has built an online canal cities business matching portal, which includes information on tourism, interviews with local business owners and online exhibitions of these local businesses from 15 canal cities. 86Links strives to include all 89 canal cities and ancient towns of WCCO into this matching portal.

Many participants of the World Canal Cities Forum were interested and urged new ways to promote growth of local businesses in cfwanal cities. They expressed support for the online canal cities business matching portal, under the leadership of WCCO.

同时，86Links还与“一带一路”相关专家战略合作，为企业做相关项目的风险评估、政策解答等咨询服务。最后，86Links的“一带一路”板块还包括创建“一带一路”国际媒体联盟，与全球4000多家传统媒体、2000多家平面媒体、4000多家新媒体建立合作关系，为企业提供媒介宣传渠道。

另外，86Links作为WCCO的战略合作伙伴，王新萍还从运河城市企业发展的角度，对运河城市企业的发展提出独到见解。首先，王新萍介绍了86Links创建的“运河城市商机撮合平台”。

目前，WCCO、86Links及中国网合作创建的“运河城市商机撮合平台”已在中国网和86Links官网同步上线。内容包括15个运河城市的人文旅游、人物专访、企业展示等信息展示。在不久的未来，86Links将把WCCO目前的89个运河城市、古镇的相关内容都更新上线。

在论坛活动期间，王新萍与多位WCCO会员企业、运河城市企业的高管深入沟通、坦诚交流，以期在WCCO的主导下，更好地创建“运河城市商机撮合平台”，促进运河城市企业的发展。
