The Beihai National High-tech Zone adheres to the development strategy of "one zone with multiple parks", and has the industrial space layout of core zone and policy coverage zone of " advantage complementation, staggering development". It hasthree leading industriesof software, power electronics and marine life, as well as characteristic industries such as electronic commerce, cultural and creative industries, service outsourcing, Internet, and has a service coverage area of 25.4 square kilometers.

In recent years, Beihai National High-tech Zone has sped up the implementation of innovation-driven strategy, constantly innovated the mechanism of resource convergence, and optimized the environment for innovation  and entrepreneurship.Right now, it has a national science and technology enterprise incubator, a national E-business demonstration base, a Guangxi service outsourcing park, a demonstration park for cultural industries in the autonomous region, a Guangxi youth innovation , an entrepreneurship base and other national and autonomous regional industrial development and incubation platforms. It has gathered about 1/2 national high-tech enterprises in the city, 2/3 technology engineering centers and enterprise technology centers at and above the autonomous region level, and has national software and integrated circuit public service platform（CSIP）, Beibu Gulf platform, asset trading platform, technological innovation research and development platform, scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship service, science and technology resources information sharing and other innovation and  entrepreneurshipservice platforms, and has high-tech pioneer park (Beihai Cultural Industrial Park), electronic commerce incubator, science and technology entrepreneurship base and other incubator bases, and has gradually been formed with a more perfect ecological system of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Currently, Beihai National High-tech Zone is focusing on the construction of national innovative characteristic park, is actively becoming a high-tech innovation base combining  R & D innovation, entrepreneurship incubation and the growth of high-tech enterprises, a high-tech industrialization base, a high-tech enterprise incubator base and a gathering base of science and technology talents and science and technology entrepreneurs.
