Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern side of Sounthern peninsula of India, which is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu has a geographical area of 426 km², with  Population: 7.088 million  as per 2011 census. The city has many historical monumenet like Fort St. George, built in 1644 which has been converted to a museum showcasing the city’s legacy as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost. Earlier it was called Madras. Also Religious Kapaleeshwarar Temple, ornamented with carved and painted gods, and St. Mary’s, a 17th-century Anglican church.
