Intro

Federal Business Centers plans some new office development for sometime next year, but now it is constructing two more distribution-type buildings containing more than 200,000 square feet of space. It also will continue to build what Frank Visceglia Jr. refers to as modular buildings, single-story structures in which interior configurations can easily be altered to meet the needs of tenants.

In the meantime, Summit is building its 9-story, 267,000-square-foot office building in conjunction with J. L. Williams & Company of Dallas. A 250- to 300-room hotel that is expected to be run by the Holiday Inn chain will adjoin the offices. Summit also is getting ready to experiment with office condominiums. Plans now call for 60,000 square feet of single-story office condominiums to be built there later this year.

Summit also has begun work on a 50-acre park within a park that will concentrate several high-technology research-and-development buildings in an area set apart by landscaping and separate roads.
